One thing that Veronika pointed out to me was a water tower. I was so pleased to see that the skies were blue in Mannheim. As I previously mentioned, it rained for about a month (maybe forty days and forty nights? Who knows. I stopped keeping track after the first week of constant rain). It was also lovely to see the Wasserturm, which has been called "the loveliest water tower in the world" by various travel guides. It certainly is very beautiful, with a statue of Amphitrite on the top of the tower and a pool of water surrounding it. Unfortunately, there was no fishing, but I did refill my watering can. Veronika also took me to this lovely fountain, which is infinitely larger than the birdbaths in my former human guardians' garden. It did have some lovely birds, though, who would talk to me, as I whiled away the hours in the garden. They'd often tell me about the places they've visited and seen...their adventures. I never thought that I'd ever become a traveler, after I spent many years guarding a garden plot. Between seeing the sights in Mannheim and nibbling on Schokobrötchen, I also took the opportunity to do a little sunbathing by the fountain. Veronika also thought that I would enjoy visiting some other cities besides Mannheim, so she took me to Heidelberg and Prague.
